Engine mounting provides the functions of supporting, limiting, and vibration isolation.
Supporting:
The most basic function of the mounting system is supporting the powertrain. The mounting system should be designed in such a way to ensure reasonable position of the automobile powertrain and a sufficient service life of the entire mounting system.
Limiting:
In transient conditions such as engine startup/shutdown and car acceleration/deceleration, and in the presence of various disturbing factors (such as bump road), the mounting system should be able to effectively limit the maximum displacement of the powertrain, so as to avoid collision between the powertrain and surrounding parts, and to ensure normal operation.
Vibration isolation:
As a connection between the chassis and the engine, the mounting system prevents the engine vibration from being transmitted to the car body on the one hand, and prevents the impact of excitation caused by uneven ground on the powertrain on the other hand.
