What are the differences between the air filter element and the air conditioning filter element on a car?
1. Different locations: The air filter element is installed in the box on the right side of the engine, while the air conditioning filter element is typically located in the glove compartment next to the front passenger seat. It can be found by removing the baffle.
2. Different functions: The air filter element is used to protect the engine by filtering out dust and impurities in the air flowing into it, while the air conditioning filter element is used to protect people in the car by filtering the air entering the car and keeping it fresh.
3. Different replacement cycles: The air filter element generally needs to be replaced after the car has run for about 15,000 kilometers, or at an earlier stage if the car often drives in harsh environments such as heavy haze. The air conditioning filter element generally needs to be replaced once every six months or after the car has run for about 10,000 kilometers. The replacement interval of the air conditioning filter element is also dependent on external environment, and should be shortened as well in harsh environments.
Advantages of vika air filter elements:
1. Air outlet surfaces: On the seal ring and in the installation point, polyurethane foam sealing agent (double-ingredient polyurethane PU glue) is applied to bond filter paper for sealing.
2. Filter paper: mainly for intercepting and filtering impurities.
3. Air inlet surfaces: The binder (PO) ensures airtightness between filter paper pieces.
PU glue provides good sealing when a vika filter element is loaded into an enclosure. The required Shore hardness for the PU glue is 25±3. In contrast, in products of other brands, air leakage may occur due to inadequate foaming.
Filter paper bonding: After the paper is folded, the hot melt glue should be applied evenly on both sides. Bonding should be completed in the time period corresponding to optimum status of the glue (3S).
