What are possible reasons for abnormal sound of an automotive door lock?

1. When a knocking sound is heard during driving and the car door tilts outward slightly, check the lock block. If it is not loose, the problem is due to wear of the second locking tongue. The preferred solution is replacing it. Or alternatively, the position of the lock hook can be adjusted.

2. When a knocking sound is heard during startup or parking of the car and the door tilts outward, push and pull the door from outside. If the door displaces evidently, it is a clear sign of loose lock block. After tightening it, check whether it can be opened and closed normally. If this is not the case, the lock block must be replaced, because uneven wear caused by the loose lock block cannot be corrected and repaired.

3. Friction between the lock block and lock hook while the car is in a parked state occurs in the driver’s door most frequently. This problem results from the wear and sinking of a door hinge that has been opened and closed many times. Solution: Readjust the door hinge and check the door lock. If it is not damaged, it can still be used.

4. The abnormal sound may stem from other parts around the door lock instead of the lock itself. After long use of the car, the door lock opening devices such as inner and outer pull cables and rebound springs may generate noise. To solve this, find the cause and replace the part in question.

Lubricating grease: German FUCHS lubricant is adopted, which guarantees sufficient lubrication and operates in the temperature range between -40°C and 130°C.

The lock block rotary card board is made of DuPont 5526 material, which provides certain tension and toughness, and leads to stronger wear resistance, noise control, and shock absorption effect.

Production process comparison

The circuits and injection molding parts are formed in one process, and are then sealed with glue to prevent the circuit boards from oxidizing and ensure long-term stable current and signal transmission.

The lower shell of the lock block has a custom silicone sealing ring, which effectively prevents dust and debris from entering the block and causing jamming and malfunction of internal parts.
